Who We Serve
Hospice is not just for those with cancer. People with illnesses that have progressed may have a life expectancy of six months or less; making them eligible for hospice care.
These illnesses may include diseases of the heart, lung, kidney or liver, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease or a combination of several chronic illnesses. It has been shown that the support of hospice care improves the quality and, at times, the length of life. Talk to the doctor and/or contact us for more information about your loved one’s needs.
Hospice care is 100% covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. At Ogeechee Area Hospice, treatment is available to all patients who need hospice care, regardless of their insurance coverage or financial situation.
